Time Display
Below the control buttons, you'll see the current playback time and total duration in the format
MM:SS / MM:SS.
Note: When loop mode is enabled, the skip buttons and "Go to Beginning" button are disabled to prevent navigation outside the loop region.
Waveform Visualisation
The waveform provides a visual representation of your audio file and serves as an interactive navigation tool.
Interacting with the Waveform
- Click anywhere on the waveform to jump to that position in the audio
- Comment pins appear as coloured dots at the bottom of the waveform, indicating where comments have been placed
- Loop markers appear as vertical lines labeled "I" (IN point) and "O" (OUT point) when loop mode is active
Comment Pins
Comment pins are colour-coded based on their status. Different colours represent different comment statuses - New, To Do, Investigate, Won't Do, and Resolved.
Hover over a pin to see a preview of the comment, and click a pin to jump to that comment's timecode and highlight it in the comments panel.
Loop Functionality
Loop mode allows you to continuously play a specific section of audio, which is particularly useful for detailed review of specific passages.
Enabling Loop Mode
Click the Loop button to enable loop mode (or press the L key). The button will turn green when active.
Setting Loop Points
You can set IN and OUT points in two ways:
Method 1: Using Current Playback Position
- Navigate to the desired start position (IN point).
- Click Set to Current under the IN Time field, or press the I key on your keyboard.
- Navigate to the desired end position (OUT point).
- Click Set to Current under the OUT Time field, or press the O key on your keyboard.
Method 2: Manual Time Entry
- Enter the IN Time manually using the minutes and seconds fields (format:
MM:SS) - Enter the OUT Time manually using the minutes and seconds fields (format:
MM:SS)
Loop Behaviour
- When loop mode is enabled and both IN and OUT points are set, playback will automatically loop between these points
- The loop markers (I and O) are visible on the waveform as vertical lines
- When you press Play, it will start from the IN point if loop is enabled
Disabling Loop Mode
Click the Loop button again to disable loop mode, or press the L key again. This will clear all loop points.

The audio player will automatically load the selected version and maintain your current playback position when possible.
Tips and Best Practices
- Use loop mode for detailed review: When focusing on a specific section, enable loop mode and set tight IN/OUT points to repeatedly listen to the same passage.
- Keyboard shortcuts for efficiency: Learn the keyboard shortcuts to speed up your workflow significantly.
- Waveform navigation: Click directly on the waveform for quick navigation - it's faster than using skip buttons for large jumps.
- Comment pins as landmarks: Use comment pins on the waveform as visual landmarks to quickly identify important sections.
- Version comparison: Switch between versions while keeping the same playback position to compare different takes or mixes at the same point in time.
